Medan, Lake Toba & Berastagi

MEDAN 
As the capital of North Sumatra, Medan has a very strategic position and is the third largest city in Indonesia after Jakarta and Surabaya. There are consulates of foreign countries and it is the primary center of activities of northern Sumatra. In the Malay language "Medan" means a large place to gather.

MEDAN  – PARAPAT 
Day 1 &  2
Arrival at Polonial International Airport Medan, then transfer to hotel , dinner at local restaurant. 
Continue the journey to Parapat / Lake Toba, drive along the road which offers the endless view of rubber , palm oil , cocoa plantations and paddy fields . Stop at Pematang Siantar to buy some local snacks : ting ting , teng teng , kerupuk / crackers etc . Check in to hotel and dinner in Parapat. Evening walk and shopping souvenir in Parapat .





















PARAPAT - SAMOSIR ISLAND TOUR - BRASTAGI 

Day 3
Took a breathtaking view in the morning , cruise the Lake Toba to  Samosir island tour by boat : visit Tomok Village to see the old grave stone of the Batak King’s - King Sidabutar and  continue visit Ambarita Village to see old the traditional Batak village with the stone court and the execution place made by King Sialagan. 



















After lunch in Parapat , take the bus ride to Brastagi : Enroute stop at Simarjarunjung / the highest point by Lake Toba to enjoy ginger tea and pisang goreng, Next.. stop at  Sipiso piso to see 110 meter height Sipiso Piso Waterfall and to see extra ordinary view of Lake Toba from Northern .

BRASTAGI - MEDAN
Day 4 & 5

Berastagi is a small town in the Karo highland of Nort Sumatera. The name of Berastagi means 'rice store' since the area is highly fertile and produces fruits and vegetables besides rice and sugar can. Berastagi is wellknown for its fruit and vegetable markets as the main economic activities. This hilly areas is quite cold in climate compares to Medan and other cities in North Sumatera.

Proceed on two hour jouney to Medan : visit Istana Maimoon / Sultan Palace ,Batik house , Pusat handbroidery / sulam / telekung , Medan Mall / Sun Plaza , Dinner and check in to hotel in Medan .




Istana Maimoon  (The Palace cf  Sultan Deli- 1888)


Istana Maimun Palace (engl.: Maimun Palace or Maimoon Palace) is a well-known landmark at Medan, the capital city of North Sumatra.
Built by the Kesultanan of Deli (Sultan of Deli), Sultan Makmun Al Rasyid Perkasa Alamsyah in years 1887–1891, the palace covers 2,772 m² and has 30 rooms. The Palace has become a tourist destination not solely because of age but also because of the unique interior design of the palace, mixing elements of Malay cultural heritage, Islam, Spanish, Indian, and Italian style.-wiki
